Malaysia Airlines has welcomed its ninth Airbus A330neo aircraft, which touched down at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on December 21, 2025. The aircraft will be deployed on routes including Bali, Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland, and Tokyo as the airline works toward operating the youngest widebody fleet into Australasia by Q1 2026.

Etihad Airways is expanding its Airbus A380 operations with the announcement of a new daily service to Tokyo's Narita International Airport, launching June 16, 2025. The route will mark the return of the airline's eighth superjumbo to active service and make Tokyo the fifth destination for Etihad's flagship aircraft, joining London, Paris, Toronto, and Singapore.
