The Department of Defense Inspector General has concluded that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth created operational security risks by sharing sensitive military information over an unsecured Signal messaging app during Houthi strike operations earlier this year. The report found that Hegseth sent nonpublic DoD information identifying aircraft quantities and strike times to hostile territory approximately 2-4 hours before execution.

Six major international airlines have suspended flights to Venezuela following a US Federal Aviation Administration warning about heightened security risks in the country's airspace. Iberia, TAP Air Portugal, LATAM Airlines, Avianca, GOL Linhas Aéreas, and Caribbean Airlines halted operations on November 22, 2025, citing increased military activity that poses potential hazards to commercial aviation at all flight stages.
