The US Space Force is planning to buy new RG-XX neighborhood watch satellites on a rolling basis under an ID/IQ contract type, according to Col. Byron McClain, program executive officer for Space Combat Power at Space Systems Command (SSC).
Saab and Embraer, in partnership with the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), have completed the certification flight test campaign for in-flight refueling between the F-39 Gripen E and the KC-390 Millennium. The campaign was carried out at Embraer's Gavião Peixoto facility, home to the Gripen Flight Test Centre.
Airbus and Singapore have completed the certification of the Automatic Air to Air Refueling (A3R) capability of the Airbus A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT). The system was evaluated under day and night conditions and marks a world-first in aviation.
Airbus has achieved world-first certification of its Automatic Air-to-Air Refueling (A3R) system on the A330 MRTT, in collaboration with the Republic of Singapore Air Force and the Defense Science and Technology Agency. The certification was granted by the Spanish National Institute for Aerospace Technology (INTA), following a qualification and flight-test campaign conducted with the RSAF and DSTA.
