Delays

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has released a report on the National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) major construction projects, which have seen cost overruns more than double since 2023. The report highlights challenges in project management and oversight, with delays growing from 9 years to 30 years as of June 2025.

The US Navy has announced plans to accelerate construction of the Columbia-class submarine, with full-rate production expected in the early 2030s. Rear Adm.
