The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), CFM International, and Airbus have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore advanced propulsion technologies, including open fan engine technology. The partnership aims to establish Singapore as the world's first airport testing ground for operations of CFM's Revolutionary Innovation for Sustainable Engines (RISE) technologies.

Dublin-based lessor Avolon has ordered 100 LEAP-1A engines from CFM International to power 50 new Airbus A320neo family aircraft. This order builds on the existing relationship between Avolon and CFM, which already powers 99 of the lessor's fleet.
