Etihad Airways has unveiled a major Airbus fleet expansion at the Dubai Airshow 2025, signing commitments for 32 additional widebody aircraft and securing 13 more jets through a leasing agreement with Avolon. Dublin-based lessor Avolon has ordered 100 LEAP-1A engines from CFM International to power 50 new Airbus A320neo family aircraft. This order builds on the existing relationship between Avolon and CFM, which already powers 99 of the lessor's fleet.
Aviation Capital Group (ACG) has acquired a portfolio of 24 aircraft from Avolon, with the majority being narrowbodies and widebody planes. The acquisition brings ACG's fleet to 470 owned, managed, and committed aircraft, and includes new technology aircraft.
