Malaysia Airlines has welcomed its ninth Airbus A330neo aircraft, which touched down at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on December 21, 2025. The aircraft will be deployed on routes including Bali, Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland, and Tokyo as the airline works toward operating the youngest widebody fleet into Australasia by Q1 2026.

China Eastern Airlines has launched the world's longest intercontinental direct flight, connecting Shanghai and Buenos Aires via Auckland with a Boeing 777-39P(ER). The nonstop service reduces travel time between China and South America by over four hours, covering 9,346 kilometers from Shanghai to Auckland and 10,334 kilometers onward to Argentina.
