Air New Zealand is preparing to launch a charter flight with live orchestral performances, called 'SYNTHONY in the Sky,' from Auckland Airport to Christchurch Airport on May 15, 2026. The experience will feature SYNTHONY's music while passengers travel at cruising altitude.

Air New Zealand has canceled 46 long-haul flights due to an international cabin crew strike over stalled contract negotiations. The two-day walkout began on February 12, 2026, and affects approximately 9,500 passengers.
