Venezuela Orders Airlines to Resume Flights Amid US Airspace Warning
Venezuela’s government has intensified pressure on the aviation industry by demanding international airlines resume flights within 48 hours or forfeit operating privileges in the country. The ultimatum from Venezuela’s National Institute of Civil Aviation (INAC) follows widespread carrier suspensions triggered by a Federal Aviation Administration warning about potentially hazardous conditions in Venezuelan airspace. The FAA advisory, issued in response to escalating US military activity in the southern Caribbean, cited “worsening security conditions and heightened military activity” affecting the Maiquetía Flight Information Region. The notice applies to aircraft “at all altitudes” and warned of possible threats from increased military operations in the region.
