The US Department of Transportation has announced eight pilot projects for its Advanced Air Mobility and eVTOL Integration Pilot Program, set to begin later this year. The program will test electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and other advanced air mobility concepts across 26 states.

Joby Aviation has started flight testing its FAA-conforming aircraft, marking the beginning of Stage 5 in the FAA's Type Certification process. This follows a long evaluation and testing phase under the US eVTOL Integration Pilot Program, which aims to accelerate advanced air mobility operations.
