Riyadh Air has confirmed an order for 120 CFM International LEAP-1A engines to power 60 Airbus A321neo family aircraft. The order was signed at the Dubai Airshow in November 2025, with CFO Adam Boukadida and Safran Aircraft Engines CEO Stéphane Cueille leading the deal.
GE Aerospace has successfully completed ground testing of a hybrid electric turbofan engine system with NASA support. The tests demonstrated the ability to extract power from the engine and inject it back into the propulsion system while maintaining stable operation.
