IATA Warns Aircraft Demand Outpaces Production Capacity
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has warned of a renewed capacity crunch in global aircraft production, citing delivery shortfalls and an order backlog exceeding 17,000 planes. According to IATA Director General Willie Walsh, higher leasing costs, reduced scheduling flexibility, and increased reliance on suboptimal aircraft types are among the most obvious challenges facing the industry.
