Turkish Defence Giant Expands Air Defence Capabilities
ASELSAN has signed a record €2.46 billion contract with Turkey’s Secretariat of Defence Industries to expand the country’s Steel Dome air defence system. The contract, announced on 5 October, is the largest in ASELSAN’s 51-year history and will fund the procurement of hybrid air defence systems. The system is designed to counter unmanned systems, helicopters, combat aircraft, and cruise missiles. The expansion of Steel Dome is part of Turkey’s efforts to strengthen its air defence capabilities, and the contract was reported by Defence Industry Europe.
