Strengthening Arctic Security Through Enhanced Cooperation
The United States, Denmark, and Greenland have signed an agreement to amend and supplement the 1951 Defense Agreement, with the aim of strengthening Arctic security and cooperation. The amendment includes provisions for the modernization and expansion of US activities in Pituffik Space Base, as well as the establishment of unmanned military installations and regulations on foreign direct investment. The agreement also reaffirms the parties’ commitment to collective defense and cooperation within NATO. This development was reported by the White House.
