Expansion Supports Growing European Demand and German Space Industry
Planet has officially opened its new Berlin manufacturing facility, marking a significant expansion of its operations in Europe. The 5,700-square-meter facility is expected to begin production this fall and will double the company’s Pelican satellite production capacity. Planet aims to meet growing demand from the European market and hire 70 new employees in addition to its existing 150 employees in Berlin. The company has also signed a deal to launch the first Pelican satellite built in Germany with Isar Aerospace, as reported by Via Satellite.
