Hong Kong Seeks To Enhance International Aviation Hub Status
Hong Kong is enhancing its role as an international aviation hub by emerging sustainable aviation fuel as a strategic industry, according to the head of the Chief Executive’s Policy Unit. The city aims to achieve a SAF consumption ratio of 1-3% for flights departing from Hong Kong International Airport by 2030 and is committed to studying an SAF mandate by 2028. The development of a SAF value chain in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is also underway, with a new production facility in Dongguan expected to produce 450,000 tons of SAF and renewable diesel annually.
