Major US Airports Impacted By Ground Stop Due To Telecom Outage
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has halted flights to several major East Coast airports due to an equipment outage, affecting thousands of passengers. The ground stops were issued at airports including New York’s John F Kennedy International and LaGuardia, Newark Liberty International in New Jersey, Boston Logan, and Philadelphia International Airport. According to US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, flights have resumed into LaGuardia and Philadelphia, but ground stops remain in effect at Newark, JFK, and Teterboro Airport. The outage was caused by an accidental cut to a fiber line by an Amtrak construction crew, as reported by Al Jazeera.
