Ultra Short Aircraft Uses Helicopter-Style Procedures For Regional Operations
Electra has successfully completed groundbreaking flights at a commercial airport using helicopter-style instrument procedures. The operations, conducted in coordination with the FAA and other partners, showcased the capabilities of Electra’s fixed-wing Ultra Short aircraft to use vertical flight landing areas and support reliable, affordable, and safe regional operations. The flights tested point-in-space procedures and dedicated instrument routings across numerous Virginia airports, and the results may inform future evaluation of fixed-wing AAM operations.
