New Indefinite-Delivery Contract For High Mobility Vehicles
The US Army has awarded AM General a new indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract to build High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles, with an initial value of $82.2 million and a cumulative ceiling of up to $754.6 million. The contract is separate from an existing HMMWV production contract, which has been modified several times to push its cumulative value past $3.2 billion. AM General has built the Humvee for the Army since the 1980s, and the vehicle remains widely recognized. This development was first reported by The Defence Blog.
