Ukraine Faces New Challenge In Countering Advanced Drone Threats
Russia has been steadily increasing its use of jet-powered drones, such as the Shahed, in attacks against Ukraine. According to Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Colonel Yurii Ihnat, these drones now make up as much as two-thirds of some Russian attack waves. Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence has noted the development of the Geran-4, a jet-powered drone with a new airframe and Chinese turbojet. In response, Ukrainian manufacturers are developing faster and smarter interceptors, including jet-powered models and those equipped with artificial intelligence.
