Saudi Carrier Enters Competitive Market with Daily Islamabad Service
Riyadh Air, a Saudi Arabian airline, has announced the launch of scheduled flights to Pakistan, starting with daily services from Riyadh to Islamabad on August 14, followed by three weekly flights to Lahore on August 18. The airline will operate Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on these routes, primarily targeting the large Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia. As the airline expands its route network, it will face competition from established carriers such as Pakistan International Airlines, Saudia, and Flynas. The expansion is supported by the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund, PIF, and is part of the airline’s aggressive growth strategy. This development was reported by Aviation.Direct.
