German Defense Giant Adjusts Sales Projections Amid Frigate Program Shift
Rheinmetall has reduced its annual naval business sales forecast by €300 million ($346 million) due to the cancellation of Germany’s F126 frigate program. Despite this loss, the company expects fiscal year 2026 sales to reach between €13.7 billion and €14.2 billion, driven by strong demand in the military business and a persistently strong order book. Rheinmetall has also unveiled a new guided-missile frigate, the GMF 140, which could be available to a North American customer. The company’s sales in other areas, such as vehicle systems and air defense, have seen significant increases, with a 28 percent jump in vehicle system sales and a 62 percent increase in air defense sales.
