Ukrainian Agencies Prioritize Procurement Risks and Hidden Beneficiaries
Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) are prioritizing defense corruption cases and procurement risks. The agencies are investigating crimes in the defense sector, tracing hidden beneficiaries and overseas transactions, and analyzing financial transactions to identify potential corruption. According to NABU Director Semen Kryvonos, corruption in the defense sector undermines Ukraine’s defense capability, and the agencies are working to reduce corruption risks and strengthen oversight of budget funds.
