The Federation of Indian Pilots has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to establish an autonomous, statutory Civil Aviation Authority, arguing that the country’s regulatory framework needs structural reform to keep pace with the expansion of the industry. The proposal seeks to replace the Directorate General of Civil Aviation with a modern, independent regulator.
