SkyDrive Eyes Manufacturing Opportunities In India
SkyDrive, a Japanese new-age company, believes India can become the largest market for eVTOLs due to its large population and potential traffic issues. The company, along with its manufacturing partner Suzuki Motor Corporation, plans to clear regulatory hurdles in two years and launch commercial operations soon after. SkyDrive has already raised $290 million from investors and has orders for 450 aircraft, primarily from helicopter operators in Southeast Asia, India, the Middle East, and the US. According to Tomohiro Fukuzawa, Founder & CEO of SkyDrive, the company will look at opportunities for manufacturing the aircraft in India in the future.
