New Delhi Seeks To Join Ambitious European Aerospace Project
India has formally initiated efforts to join France’s Future Combat Air System (FCAS) programme, following Germany’s withdrawal from the project. The initiative could transform FCAS into a consequential France-India aerospace partnership, connecting European combat-aircraft technology with Indian manufacturing capacity and Indo-Pacific operational requirements. India’s Ministry of Defence has informed the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence of its efforts to co-join the programme, which combines a stealthy New Generation Fighter with remote-carrier drones and a combat cloud.
