India is rapidly expanding its space capabilities, with a focus on launch systems, satellites, and human spaceflight. The country’s space sector has grown significantly, with private investment surging and the number of registered space start-ups increasing to around 440. India has operationalised four indigenous launch vehicles and is targeting a crewed mission under the Gaganyaan programme by 2027.
