Beijing Expands Space-Based Intelligence And Communication Assets
China has launched a pair of secretive satellites, TJS-27A and 27B, into a new orbit, while also upgrading its on-orbit communications relay capabilities with the launch of the Tianlian-3 relay satellite. The TJS-27 satellites are intended for satellite communication, broadcasting, and data transmission, according to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. The launches were reported by SpaceNews, marking China’s 52nd and 53rd of 2026, as the country continues to expand its space capabilities.
