First Non-US Customer For Secretive Beyond-Visual-Range Air-To-Air Missile
Australia has announced its commitment to purchasing the American-made AIM-260 Joint Advanced Tactical Missile (JATM), with an investment of almost $736 million AUD ($518 million USD) for up to 450 missiles. The missiles will be integrated on the Royal Australian Air Force’s (RAAF) Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet, Lockheed-Martin F-35A Lightning II, and Boeing EA-18G Growler Electronic Attack aircraft. Additionally, Australia has successfully flight-tested an indigenously developed solid fuel rocket motor, marking a significant step towards its sovereign guided weapons capability.
