New Acquisition Shop Seeks Solutions For Munitions Depth And Propulsion
The US Army’s new Portfolio Acquisition Executive Fires shop is working to bridge four key capability gaps in its portfolio of 62 programs. According to Brig. Gen. Robert Mikesh, the gaps include propulsion and energetics, targeting and seekers, the industrial base, and munitions breadth and depth. The Army is seeking solutions that provide a balanced mix of affordable mass and exquisite capability, and is emphasizing the need for open architecture and multiple sources.
