Government Aims To Develop Common Cloud Solution For Public Sector
The UK government is planning a new national-scale agreement for cloud services, potentially worth up to £40bn, as part of its efforts to develop a common cloud commercial solution for the public sector. The initiative, known as the National Cloud Infrastructure Procurement (NCIP), aims to coordinate cloud and infrastructure demand across the public sector and drive UK growth by incentivising supplier investment. According to government documents, the procurement aggregation could run for the next decade and be worth tens of billions of pounds to featured suppliers.
