European Space Agency Awards Prime Contract for Earth Observation Mission
Thales Alenia Space has been awarded a contract by the European Space Agency to develop two Sentinel-1 Next Generation satellites as part of the Copernicus Earth Observation program. The contract, worth 700 million euros, represents the first tranche of a larger agreement. The Sentinel-1 NG satellites will provide observation data for environmental protection, climate monitoring, and other societal applications.
