Safran Electronics & Defense will invest nearly €50 million in a new defense equipment facility in Ludwigsburg, Germany, expanding its industrial footprint in the country. The new site will replace Safran’s current facility in Murr and is expected to become operational in early 2028, providing additional industrial capacity to support the growth of its defense equipment activities. The investment will create 200 jobs and strengthen production and maintenance capacity for navigation and optronics equipment. According to AeroTime, Safran aims to reinforce its position as an industrial partner to the Bundeswehr, the German government, and German defense companies.
