Ryanair CEO Sees Engine Availability As Key Factor
Ryanair Group CEO Michael O’Leary does not believe that the collapse of Spirit Airlines will lead to an increase in secondhand jet market capacity for low-cost airlines. Instead, O’Leary expects engine availability to be the key factor in determining aircraft capacity. Spirit Airlines has 114 Airbus A320-family aircraft to return to lessors. According to Aviation Week, O’Leary’s comments suggest that the used aircraft market may remain stable despite the collapse of Spirit Airlines.
