Defense Prime Taps Space Industry Scale-Up for Satellite Development
Northrop Grumman has announced a partnership with Apex to collaborate on the development of space-based interceptor (SBI) satellites as part of the US Golden Dome missile-defense shield. The partnership aims to deliver on-orbit missile defense capabilities by 2027, with Apex also working on its own SBI demo mission, Project Shadow. The Golden Dome program is estimated to cost $185B and consist of 7,000 sats, according to the DoD. This development was first reported by Payload Space.
