Space Agency To Study Storms From Space With SmallSats
NASA’s INCUS mission is on track for a 2027 launch, with two of the three SmallSats having completed assembly and testing. The mission aims to study the dynamics of tropical convective storms from low Earth orbit, providing insights to improve storm forecasting and potentially mitigating loss of life and property damage. The INCUS mission is the first space-based survey of its kind, and its findings could have significant implications for communities affected by severe weather. This development was reported by the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
