Global Air Transport Association Seeks New Leader Amid Industry Shifts
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is set to review candidates for its new Director General by the end of June, according to Chairman Luis Gallego. The search was prompted by the resignation of current Director General Willie Walsh, who will leave to become CEO of IndiGo in August. A subcommittee of the IATA Board of Governors is conducting interviews and will make recommendations to the board. The new leader will be selected earlier than anticipated, with Walsh’s term originally set to end in 2027. This development was reported by Aviation Week.
