Walsh Leaves IATA With Scathing Criticism Of Industry Partners
IATA Director General Willie Walsh used his final speech at the association’s AGM to criticize the aerospace supply chain, oil industry, and air traffic management organizations. Walsh, who will become CEO at Indian carrier IndiGo this summer, targeted the failures of aircraft and engine manufacturers to deliver on time, resulting in significant costs for airlines. He also took aim at London Heathrow Airport and European and US air traffic management systems. The speech was reported by Aviation Week.
