Innovative System Enhances Comfort And Safety For Industrial Workers
The German Institutes of Textile and Fiber Research (DITF) have developed a self-powered textile climate-control system, StAirS, designed to improve comfort and safety in protective workwear. The system uses air-conducting textile structures and movement-powered pneumatic generators to manage excess body heat and sweat. This innovation has been selected as a featured project at the 2026 SME Innovation Day in Berlin, as reported by Fibre2Fashion.
