ESA Signs Off On Performance Requirements For Autonomous System
European officials have signed off on high-level performance requirements for a future autonomous Earth observation program, which could lead to extra funding for the European Space Agency’s precursor effort. The program, known as the European Resilience from Space-Earth Observation program, aims to pave the way for the European Union’s Earth Observation Government Service. ESA members have already agreed to provide €700 million for the program, and the agency is now actively contacting member states to secure further funding. The development was reported by Aviation Week.
