IATA Warns Of Aging Aircraft In Chinese Commercial Fleet
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has warned that China’s commercial aircraft fleet will continue to age despite recent large orders for new aircraft. According to IATA’s Regional Vice President for North Asia, Xingquan Xie, the number of aircraft aged 20 or older has exceeded new deliveries since 2020. This trend is concerning for the industry, as an aging fleet can lead to increased maintenance costs and reduced efficiency. The news was reported by Aviation Week.
