Defense Giant Withdraws T-7A Red Hawk From Undergraduate Jet Training System
Boeing has announced its exit from the competition for the Navy’s new training jet, the Undergraduate Jet Training System (UJTS). The company stated that the T-7A Red Hawk training jet, currently being produced for the Air Force, does not fulfill Navy requirements. Boeing’s decision follows Lockheed Martin’s earlier withdrawal from the competition. The remaining competitors, Textron Aviation Defense and SNC, will now vie for the contract to replace the Navy’s T-45 Goshawk fleet. The Navy’s UJTS program aims to provide a modern training solution for naval aviators, with a focus on unique aircraft simulation capabilities. This development was first reported by Breaking Defense.
