Key Regulatory Approval Paves Way For Certification
Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Stephanie Pope has announced that the Boeing 777-9 has achieved a major milestone in its flight and ground testing process, receiving Type Inspection Authorization (TIA) Phase 4B approval. This regulatory phase involves direct participation from FAA personnel in testing and validation of the aircraft’s safety, checklists, and non-normal operations. Pope expressed confidence that certification will be completed by the end of 2026, which could enable deliveries to begin early in 2027. The news was reported by Aviation Week.
