Former Israeli Air Force Commander Sees Growing Threats, Need for Defensive Shift
Major General (res.) Amir Eshel, Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Defense and partner at Aurelius Capital, warned of a military revolution at the 2026 Jerusalem Post New York Conference. Eshel stressed the need for a fundamental mindset shift, arguing that nations must invest more heavily in defensive capabilities to address emerging threats. He pointed to the rise of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, drones, and other technologies that enable relatively weak actors to wield unprecedented power. The comments were made in collaboration with Aurelius Capital, as reported by The Jerusalem Post.
