US Carrier Explores Future Fleet Options With Boeing And Airbus
American Airlines is in discussions with Boeing and Airbus regarding a potential new widebody aircraft order, as part of its efforts to improve business through long-term investments. During the carrier’s virtual annual meeting, CEO Robert Isom mentioned that the company is addressing the future of its widebody fleet and has an RFP out to evaluate options. American Airlines is awaiting 19 Boeing 787-9s and has options for 19 more, with a current fleet including Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft. The airline plans to expand and modernize its internationally capable fleet, according to AeroTime.
