European Counter-Drone Solutions Integrated with Fortion IBMS
Airbus Defence and Space has signed a memorandum of understanding with Alta Ares, a French defense technology company, to develop and integrate European counter-drone solutions. The partnership will connect Alta Ares’ systems to Airbus’ Fortion IBMS command and control suite and its Fortion SAMOC surface-to-air missile operations center. The companies will continue developing and deploying interceptors, including the Black Bird and X-Lock, designed to counter high-speed targets and one-way attack drones. This announcement was made at the ILA Berlin air show, where Airbus is also presenting its expanded uncrewed systems portfolio, as reported by AeroTime.
