German Aerospace Industry Unites Behind Future Combat Air System
At the ILA Berlin air show, eight German aerospace and defense companies signed a strategic positioning paper, formally committing to the development of the sixth-generation fighter aircraft at the core of the Future Combat Air System (FCAS). The Airbus-led consortium, known as Team Gen 6, includes major players such as Autoflug, Diehl Defence, and MTU Aero Engines. Spanish industry is also organizing in close integration with the German partners, with companies like Indra and Airbus playing key roles.
