Space Systems Firm Expands Supply Chain Control With Key Acquisition
York Space Systems has agreed to acquire Solestial, a maker of ultrathin, radiation-hardened solar cells and modules. The acquisition is part of York’s push to gain more visibility and control over key subsystems in its supply chains. Solestial’s technology is designed for space and has self-healing capabilities, which could enhance York’s space systems. The deal is expected to complete in the second quarter, according to Washington Technology.
