Guidance Kits Support Standoff Strike Capabilities
The US government has cleared the potential sale of Joint Direct Attack Munitions - Extended Range (JDAM-ER) kits to Ukraine, with a value of $374 million. The sale includes 1,200 KMU-572 and 332 KMU-556 tail kits, which will support the standoff strike capabilities of Ukraine’s air force. The kits will be used on Ukraine’s growing force of Lockheed Martin F-16 fighters, as well as legacy Russian-built types. The sale was announced by the US Department of State, according to FlightGlobal.
