The US Department of State has approved a $5 billion sale of PATRIOT and APKWS systems to Qatar, enabling the country to bolster its air defence capabilities and precision weapons. The sale includes PATRIOT Air and Missile Defence replenishment services and associated equipment, as well as Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System rounds and support.
